On the 9th September 2010, FASfacts commemorated International FAS Day in an impressive manner. This year’s event was held at the picturesque Kleinplasie in Worcester.
In line with our exciting theme for International FAS Day 2010 – Help Them Reach their Goals – Prevent FAS, FASfacts, in partnership with the National Lottery Distribution Trust Fund (NLDTF) and South
African Breweries (SAB), handed over 3 000 rugby, soccer and netballs to schools and community sport clubs. Needless to say, there were more than a few happy faces around.
Our guest speaker and MEC for Health in the Western Cape, Mr Theuns Botha, also highlighted the need for increased action against Fetal Alcohol Syndrome.
We were also honoured to have Mr Jeffrey du Preez of the NLDTF and Dr Vincent Maphai of SAB as our guest speakers. Their contribution towards International FAS Day and the funding of our programs is invaluable.
